On October 23rd, the Day of San Juan, the famous swallows of San Juan Capistrano depart their California mission in a swirling mass to begin a journey of more than 6,000 miles south to Goya, Corrientes, Argentina. On or around March 19th, St. Joseph’s Day, these tenacious birds return to the ringing bells of the old church and a crowd of visitors from all over the world to celebrate with a huge fiesta.
