Carrots and Shadows

February 3, 2011

According to The Washington Post: At 7:25 AM ET on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his his shadow — predicting an early spring!

Early spring? I don’t believe it. Wake a groundhog midwinter, give him a carrot and shoot a bunch of photos, do you really think he’s looking for his shadow? He’s also 125 years old.

Saturday’s forecast: more snow.

Thanks, Hilary! And typical New Englander just distrusting of anything outside of our lil’ world. We’re hoping you crazies are right!

    It’s so cold lately!

More like Punk-sutawny. I like that the groundhog looks so ungrateful for the carrot, like it is a poor consolation prize. Very cute.

Like Bill Murray says, ” It’s gonna be cold, it’s gonna be grey, and it’s gonna last you for the rest of your life.”

And I don’t know who said this one, but “If you’re gonna be a bear, be a grizzly…” Go grizzlies! I have faith the cold and snow will one day succumb to the warm and sun…just maybe not in our lifetime.

If I was 125 years old, I’d crawl back into bed! I love your Phil!
