Illustration Friday—Swept

June 16, 2011

For some reason I couldn’t get a grasp on this week’s topic “swept,” so I sat on it all week…. It’s Thursday night and still nothing, so pencil turns to my old-faithful standbys: African critters. They’re always ready to step in and help when I’m in a jam.

…As a pride of lions silently paddled on soft-padded paws across the savanna, their tails “swept” across the dusty road in contented boredom.

I drew a blank on this topic, too. But I think your lions’ tails sweeping along are just perfect! I’m hoping I’ll be inspired when I see tomorrow’s word…

Love the expression on the one fellow’s face!

Perfect choice of words and imagery – I can just envision their manes being gently swept by the savannah breezes as well. Their is a nice quietness to this piece. So thrilled to see you

Hello, my dear–well, you’ve done it once again–totally blown my mind. I LOVE this picture. I want them all! LOL The look on that last lion’s face is just priceless. How do you do it? You are such a incredible artist. I hope you don’t get tired of hearing me say so. You are SUCH an inspiration, my dear. ((hugs))

Did I tell you this wonderful drawing fills my eyes? It is an involuntary response my eyes do when I see something beautiful, amazing, extraordinary. The focus in on what I’m looking at so quickly, my eyes tickle. LOL To say your work fills my eyes, is the greatest compliment I can give. ((hugs))
