Illustration Friday—Midsummer Night

June 26, 2011

Under the light of lanterns and inky darkness spreading around them like autumn fog, this “midsummer night” inspired melodic bays and the clicking-clatter of paws dancing with joy beyond words.

Happy Summer!

So cute and fun! I like the personality and motion imbued in the dogs, particularly the second-to-last guy, with his ears flapping around! Nice job.

Oh P, this is fabulous. It amazes me how with pencil you are able to emit such light out of this work. You are quite the wordsmith as well. I adored the melodic description. I have yet to get my sketch down for this theme. Got hung up on finishing another work.

Oh, Penny! You have me laughing outloud with this one. I LOVE it! These pups remind me of the dear animals which shared the magic of my childhood. Thank you so much–I always wondered what they were up to in the wee hours of the morning!

LOL This just fills my eyes, my dear, talented Friend!

Ooooohh charming. Have you ever seen The Cat Returns? It is an animation for Studio Ghibli. In it they have this little Cat parade to announce the arrival of feline royalty. This reminds me of that.

    Very nice little dance.
