I am in awe of your work. Your use of pencil is phenominal. Your technique & ability to capture the emotions in the animals is spellbinding. I look forward to following your work

Tara, what a nice message! Thank you. And I just looked at your blog and it made me smile and laugh. Your expressions and style are lovely. And I’m right with you on your goals for 2010! They are mine also. Both blogging and Illustration Friday have been amazing motivators and fire under my butt. IF’s also introduced me to sooo many wonderful, generous artists. Nothing better than knowing someone’s watching…I’ll be following your posts also. Penny

    Dear Penny,

I just stumbled upon your blog through searching images of “black and white” on google. I am STUNNED at your talent! Some of your postings sound as if they are assignments – as if through classes. Are you majoring in anything that is teaching you to develope your artistic skills? (If so, it’s WORKING!)

I would love to know. I used to be very into sketching (usually of people) and could scratch out life-like images in less than an hour. Since having children my talent has been pushed to the way-side. I’m almost 24 and still haven’t found anything I feel passionate enough to invest the cost of education in yet. I’ve muddled through Veterinary Science, Animal Behavior, Photography and am constantly remembering the good old artistic days and wishing I could recapture my ability. I’d love to hear what you have to say on the topic.

I LOVE your work. TRUELY worthy of praise.

    Best Wishes,

    Laura

    Hi Penelope,

I just saw your site. Your work is so beautiful!
What an experience to live in Africa! You got the best out of it by bringing home and continuing to create those incredible animals!
Your style is very clean and and there is so much to look at!
Do you sell on Etsy? I think you’d do great selling children’s art.

I am still working on my portfolio to put up my own site eventually but am thoroughly enjoying the process.

Glad to have met you! 🙂
