Zebras Three (in progress)
October 30, 2010
It’s been forever since I’ve worked large … but these three zebras —30″x40″ oil on canvas— keep looking at me, begging for some resolution in their evolution. When I last visited these three I was stumped, stumbling around direction, still am, but it’s time to let them find peace. It’s time to work large…

I love your pieces that you say are unfinished! I love the “unfinished-ness” of them! Makes it more interesting than having everything perfect! But that’s just me!
Don’t you think that that’s one of the reasons we, as humans, like abstract art and even impressionistic work? The unfinished-ness of it? I dunno – just throwing it out there!!
Love the zebras, Pen…Will I see you tonight at our silly party?
Yeah, that unfinished idea is so perfect and, in one sense, I’m soooo good at not finishing things, but in another sense, I find it impossible to stop and say, “enough!” This usually happens with paintings, I take them too far then they lose that magic… so, I will not, I promise, take these three Z’s too far.
And I will be looking for “Snooky” in dog-drooled-bunny slippers to-night! Can’t wait!
gorgeous and moody – love it
